A country kitchen
inspired largely by the falling of a tree on the farm on which this
house is built. Our client asked us if there was anything that could
be done with the beech tree in question, and on inspection of the mammoth
40 foot trunk, it became apparent that the wood was spalted (infected
with a fungus that causes very sought after streaks of bright colours).
After having the tree sawn and kiln dried, the exquisite and rare timber
was used extensively in the kitchen and throughout the new build house.
