This magnificent eight foot semi-elliptical display cabinet showcases
some of the most challenging furniture making processes possible. Whereas
it is commonplace to find cabinets made in a semi-circular shape, this
simply would not work on this scale as the depth would be too great,
so the more ambitious and elegant semi-elliptical shape has been undertaken.
To further enhance the aesthetics a bold cross-grained tulipwood cornice
is executed around the entire cabinet; a feature rarely attempted due
to the extreme difficulty of manufacture. This band of tulip wood is
then reflected in three graduated thinner bandings around the doors
and legs.
